BR 1-09: The Little Giraffe

"I'll make a magic drink for you." (Sims, 2007, p.13)

The Little Giraffe and his best friend Rhino are very, very hungry. What happens next changes their lives forever. This charming retelling of an African folktale has easy-to-read text and fun puzzles to try after the story.

Once, there was a little giraffe, and he was the first giraffe in the world.
He lived in East Africa...with his best friend, Rhino.
Every day, they looked for food, but there was no food anywhere.
So they went to see...the wise man.
"Come back tomorrow," said the wise man.
What happens to them tomorrow?
Anyway, did they visit the wise man!?

This story is retold by Lesley, Sims. This is in the Usborne First Reading series.
It's a level two book, so it is short story (about 23 pages) and easy to read.
This story is interesting, and I recommend you to read this book.
