BR 1-05: How Zebras Got Their Stripes

"Zebra wasn't scared." (Sims, 2009, p.18)

This story is based on an old folk tale from Namibia in Africa.

This story is about a greedy baboon, a pond, a giraffe, an elephant and the very first zebra.
Long ago, there was a greedy baboon and he lived by a pond.
He wanted the pond all to himself, and everyone was thirsty.
However, baboon didn't care.
Giraffe crept to the pond, but baboon roared and giraffe fled.
Elephant went to the pond, but baboon roared and elephant fled.
Zebra walked up and said...
What he said?
What will happen to baboon?

This story is retold by Lesley Sims. This is in the Usborne First Reading series.
It's a level 2 book, so it is short story (about 25 pages) and easy to read.
This story is interesting, and we can find that how zebras got their stripes and how baboons got their red bottoms. lol
